Oh side-by-side...I've found that I love Slide.com so much because they move and look more appealing. But if you go into html (I think that's the one, where all the codes show) then you just delete all the information between the two layout.
The only problem with that is if you have the photos set on large, it can't put them side by side because it will go outside your blogger template. So you'll have to adjust your photo size to a smaller size. If that made any sense!
That's why I've started using the slide (as I've done with the three templates that I used from SO showing off both the template and the finished layout) Totally cool stuff!
